Multiple Tiger Hoopers Named All-County

The Tigers have names all over the board for the All-Stark County awards. For the boys, Chris Knight was first team, Gio Jackson Jr was second team, and Terrelle Keyes and Xavier Williams were honorable mention.

Four of the Lady Tigers’ key players made the All-County team. Delaney Pierce and La Nia Moore both landed first team. Hannah Nicola was named second team; Jaryn Wolff was an honorable mention. The biggest honors came for Delaney Pierce and Coach Joe Pierce– they were named County Player of the Year and Coach of the Year respectively.

Baseball, Softball, and Tennis Score

Tiger baseball fell to 1-3 after a 4-0 loss to Boardman. The Spartans were held to only 5 hits but in their turn held the Tigers to only 2 hits. Boardman pitcher Collin Resetar struck out 6 in his compete game shutout while issuing 0 walks.

Massillon softball took home a 3-0 victory versus Central Catholic to improve to 5-3. The Tigers had 6 hits and reached on 4 Crusader errors– the Tigers’ pitching allowed 6 hits but shut out Central.

Tiger boys tennis matched its win total from last year with their third win. Massillon has started off strong by dominating the first three matches of the year… yesterday’s win came over Canton South.

Luke Murphy Receiving Offers

Massillon alum and Eastern Michigan transfer Luke Murphy is looking for a new home as he comes off an excellent season. So far he has received offers from James Madison and Coastal Carolina.
