Chris Knight Earns Honors

Tiger shooting guard Chris Knight was named Stark County player of the week by the Canton Repository for his performance versus Wooster last week (23 points). He was also named player of the game by “Courtside with Sammy and Lee” for his performance against McKinley on Tuesday (22 points, 6 rebounds).

Offers Pour in as College Recruiting Season Ramps Up

Many college scouts (including Maryland and Kent State coaches) have been observing Massillon players over the past couple weeks, and today a few Tigers received offers. Lennox Lemon was offered by Toledo (his 7th D1 offer). He and several others– Ja’Dyn Williams, Deontay Malone, and Tra’Yon Williams (first D1 offer)– also received offers from Kent State.

Tigers Participate in 7v7 Tourneys

Last year the OHSAA approved 7v7 offseason tourney participation after an incident that resulted in the suspension of star Shaker Heights safety Trey McNutt. This season, a few Tigers– including wide receiver Deontay Malone and quarterback Manny Patterson– are taking advantage of this ruling. They are in the “Battle 7v7” tournament– its first round took place in Florida. These Tigers will travel to Las Vegas for the second round.

Lady Tigers to Clash with St. Vincent-St. Mary’s on Saturday

The Lady Tigers (#21 in the state) will travel to Akron on Saturday to take on St. V’s (15-1, #12 in the state). SVSM will be streaming the game live (link below). Tip at 2:30PM.
