Aidan Longwell Takes the Field for Colorado
Legendary Massillon quarterback Aidan Longwell took the field last night in Arizona versus the Texas Rangers. He was able to get his first spring training action for the Colorado Rockies, playing first base and getting one at-bat. Longwell played an impressive season last year in A ball… this season between AAA and the majors he has gone 7/11 with two triples and a double. Tonight in AAA Longwell went 1-2 with a walk, a triple, and a sac fly.
Junior High Track Competes in State Championships
A couple Massillon Junior High athletes had the opportunity to compete in the JH OATCCC State Championships today. The event, which took place at Muskingham University, saw two Tigers place highly. Eighth-grader Graham Oaklief placed third in the boy’s 60m dash with a time of 7.84 (a personal best), fifth in the boy’s 200m with a time of 25.76 (a personal best), and third in the boy’s long jump with a mark of 17-00.50. Eighth-grader Ella Moore recorded a personal best in the girl’s 60m hurdles with a time of 12.3, good for 10th place.
Tiger DB Offered
Massillon corner Demari Clemons received an offer from Temple University today. He also has offers from Fordham, Miami (OH), Kent State, Akron, Buffalo, Boston College, Syracuse, UConn, Louisville, Maryland, West Virginia, Pitt, Michigan, Michigan State, and Penn State. Clemons played 8 games in his junior season for the Tigers, recording 18 tackles, 2 TFLs, a sack, and 4 pass breakups.
