Chris Fair Commits to USMMA
Massillon offensive lineman Chris Fair committed to the United States Merchant Marine Academy this week. USMMA is a DIII college that participates in the NEWMAC conference for football. Chris and his brother Cody will now both play for service academies. Cody was a captain for Naval Academy Prep School (NAPS) last season and may join Navy’s varsity squad at some point.
Three New Schools Join D2R7
The OHSAA announced reshuffled regional alignments for the upcoming football season. The Tigers will remain in Region 7 but will be joined by three new teams– Hoover (6-5 last season), Louisville (4-6 last season), and Watkins Memorial (3-8 last season).
Softball Pitcher Named County Player of the Week
Massillon softball pitcher and second baseman Nevaeh Drennen was voted Stark County Player of the Week for her performances versus McKinley and Tuslaw. She pitched a shutout one-hitter against McKinley and went 3-5 at the plate. Versus Tuslaw she had three hits, drove in a run, and scored two runs.
