The Tigers are taking their first trip to the West Coast! Many Tigers fans are interested in taking the cross-country journey with them to Nike World Headquarters to see the battle with NFL Academy UK. If you are one of those going to support our Tigers, you may be interested to see what attractions are in the area.
Beaverton, Oregon is the host city of our Tigers for week one. Beaverton is a major city in Washington County, which is situated in the Tualatin Valley, a beautiful area that is surrounded by mountain ranges and features its namesake, the Tualatin River, running through parts of the county. It also features vast woodlands and agriculture areas.

There is much to do in the Tualatin Valley area, from beautiful hikes to shopping and visiting museums. The Beaverton Farmer’s Market, one of the largest in Oregon, is open Saturdays from 8:30 am-1:30 pm. It features hundreds of local vendors who sell everything from produce, nuts, and baked goods to coffee and tea. The market also features live music, with the featured band on Saturday the 24th being local folk rock band Big Stretch. There are also many other farms and markets selling goods across the county.
One of the many nature areas in the Tualatin Valley is the Banks-Veronia State Trail. Spanning 21 miles along an abandoned railroad, this trail winds through wooded hills and farmland, and also features thirteen bridges with views of the Valley beneath. This trail and the many others in the Tualatin Valley are a great place to go if you wish to explore the woodlands and farmland of Oregon.
If you want to explore nature and are feeling the need for adventure and thrills, you may be interested in one of the Tualatin Valley’s zip lines. Tree to Tree Adventure Park in Gaston, Oregon offers a high ropes course, ten obstacle courses, a zip line tour, and a canopy tour—all with incredible views of the Tualatin Valley woodlands.
Another zip line, Pumpkin Ridge Zip Tour in North Plains, offers a two-hour long fully guided tour of the Oregon forests in Tualatin Valley. It includes seven zip lines and two suspension bridges along the tour. *This zip line is by reservation only.
If you enjoy arcades, you may want to stop by Next Level Pinball Museum. One of the largest arcades in the world, they feature over 650 arcade and pinball games, with most available on free play with admission. They also feature a pop culture museum with items such as retro toys and signed movie collectibles.

Another interesting museum that resides in the Tualatin Valley is the Rice Museum of Rocks and Minerals. This museum features a vast collection of items such as fossils, rocks, gems, and meteorites—a collection recognized as one of the best in the United States. They also feature unique stonework and woodwork in their museum’s architecture, and are featured on the National Register of Historic Places.
