Liberty Screen Printing
Liberty Screen Printing has come on the stage in a big way over the last couple seasons. Owner Jason Crawford started the business in 2011. It was mostly an online store, and most of their business involved creating merchandise for various law enforcement agencies. In 2021, they opened the Massillon location, and the rest is history— they have soared in popularity with their unique and creative designs.
Liberty carries numerous designs involving the Tigers and the Tiger Swing Band. They still carry state championship gear and right now feature many Beat McKinley designs. One of Liberty’s unique lines, the “Massillon Against the World” theme, is featured on flags, decals, hoodies, and shirts. Owner Jason Crawford told me, “We were proud to see the team wear our gear during the playoffs last year. It is really an ‘Us vs. Everybody’ feel out there. People have really bought into this community and our designs, and I think that really reflects the Massillon mentality”. They also have many other flag designs, including Swing Band and Championship flags, as well as giant Massillon hats. Liberty is a great place for unique and fun designs, and they are regularly releasing new shirt designs.

TeeShopz
Owner Brock James started out selling custom decals on Ebay. People began requesting T-shirts to be custom made, so he started a small printing business in his basement. He soon outgrew the basement shop and opened a plaza shop. During the financial struggle of Covid and the cotton shortage, he installed golf simulators that he hopes will launch his next venture. The golf simulators are used by many local golf teams and are available for rent (contact Brock for more information). He hopes to eventually open an event center that features the golf simulators as well as a virtual baseball game, and ax throwing among other fun features, making it a “local version of Dave and Buster’s.” As of now he is still in the T-shirt business, but it is “for the Massillon community and for the fun of designing” that he carries on. Help support his hard work and stop in to grab a cool hat or t-shirt. Check out the golf simulators (perfect for keeping form during the winter) while you’re at it!
One of TeeShopz’s specialties is the old Leaping Tiger design from the Leo Strang era. They feature hats, shirts, and hoodies with this classic design on it. Owner Brock James also has many other popular designs, including a “Massillon Against the Zebras” (i.e. the refs) design. He has many unique Beat McKinley designs on sale at the moment; he’ll be happy to print one on the spot for you in your choice of size!

Howard’s Tiger Rags
Howard’s has been under the same ownership (Jim Rubin) since 1976. They began as a men’s clothing shop but eventually moved into Massillon gear. Today, the men’s clothing section is mostly phased out, although they still offer tuxedo rentals. A couple of years ago they moved from their longtime home due to structural instability, but they are still located on Lincoln Way East. Stop in and you’ll find owner Jim Rubin or Tim Todoran ready to help you find whatever Tiger apparel or decor you need.
They have a huge selection of clothing at Howard’s. All your cold-weather needs for playoff games are one stop away. From gloves, beanies, and scarves to jackets, winter coats, and vests, Howard’s is the go-to for Tiger winter gear. They also have a large selections of T-shirts and long sleeve shirts, including state championship gear, as well as an excellent selection of Massillon hats.
One of Howard’s most unique features is their variety of gadgets and trinkets that are all Massillon themed. Whether it’s pens, decals, car flags, magnets, and license plates or coasters, necklaces, pins, and face tattoos, Howard’s is the #1 stop for Tiger-themed trinkets.

Sassy Mama Creative Designs
This newer edition to our Tiger gear shops was founded in 2021 by Nicole Miller, a lifelong Massillonian. Nicole has a passion for fun and sassy shirts; and when personal projects shared online started to gain views, she decided to start marketing online. Today you can find her work on her website (link at the end of the segment) and at Meldrum’s, the Backroad, and JMZ Salon (addresses listed after the segment). She also has a mobile T-shirt and hat bar where on-the-spot work is done.
“Turning my hobby into a business has been incredibly rewarding”, says Nicole, “especially seeing the joy my designs bring to others. I also love giving back to our community—supporting local kids is a priority for me. We’ve provided meals for the Central Catholic football team and Massillon basketball team and donated baskets for various raffles and fundraisers for our different teams and charities. I truly believe that without the kids who play, we wouldn’t be where we are today.”
The gear designed is made with sports moms in mind. From drinkware to T-shirts, Sassy Mama has you covered. Whether you are a sports parent or a fan of Tiger football, the Swing Band, track and field, basketball, soccer, softball, baseball, volleyball, golf, cheer, or the Tiger Sharks, there is something for you.
