Lady Tigers Honored in District Awards

The Lady Tigers keep piling on the awards after their record season. Head Coach Joe Pierce was named DII Coach of the Year. Coach Kaylee Pierce was named District 4 DII Assistant Coach of the Year. Freshman Rylee Adams was nominated for All-District. Sophomore Kynslie Williams was also nominated for All-District. Sophomore Jaryn Wolff and Junior Hannah Nicola were honorable mention All-District 4. Senior Lania Moore was named an alternate for the North/South All-Star team. She was also named a Stark/Summit All-Star, as well as first team All-District. Freshman Delaney Pierce was named D2 Player of the Year and was selected as first team All-District.

Massillon Hoopers Land on All-District Team

Massillon senior guard Chris Knight, the second-best scorer in Tigers’ history, was named Division 2 Player of the Year by the OHSBCA. He was also selected as first team All-District (DI & DII). Sophomore guard/forward Gio Jackson Jr. was selected as an honorable mention for District 4. Knight averaged 22 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 2 steals per game. Jackson averaged 11 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.6 steals per game.
