A Thank You to Massillon

The Regional Final’s result was a tough way to end the fall sports season. Although it did not end in the glory we saw in 2023, we still had great moments throughout the season. For me, this experience as an intern was everything I could have hoped for; I was able to perform most of the projects that I wished to carry out in my future career as a journalist. Everyone around the program— fans, coaches, players, parents, and media— all supported me and my work throughout my time with the school this season.

There are so many people to thank for so many reasons. Thank you to Coach Moore for starting this path for me by sending my email to Brian Pachis and for answering my questions during interviews this season. Thank you to Mr. Pachis for accepting me in this position, helping me find my footing within the school, and giving me the freedom to roam where I wanted when I wanted. Thank you to the Booster Club for promoting my work and helping me along the way. Thank you to all the different coaching staffs for allowing me to work with the teams and promote the programs. Thank you to the players who I was able to cover this season. Thank you to my fellow media workers; it was great meeting and working with so many of you this season. Thank you to the parents for your interaction this season. And last (but not in the smallest bit least), thank you to the Tiger community. The support you had for my work is not something that will be found on this level in any other place. You truly make the community what it is— a supportive and encouraging one.

I plan to return next year for the fall sports season, continuing with projects similar to this season while implementing a few different elements. I would love to continue covering winter and spring sports in the meantime, but unfortunately I need to continue to support myself through college with other means and cannot spare the time. Meanwhile, I will have a few articles every month leading up to next fall sports season. I will take a couple more looks back at this year’s team before moving on to next year. Over the offseason I will be writing occasional articles on subjects such as historical games, next season’s opponents (as they are scheduled), and this year’s seniors’ next steps. I will also keep the Active Alumni page updated until the college and NFL seasons are over, and I will be tracking commitments and transfers on the college level on my social media.

It was my pleasure to work this season for these teams, this school, and our community, and I look forward to contributing more in the future to this great city, the city of Massillon.
