Both the Tigers (0-2) and Rittman (0-2) came into Tuesday’s match looking for their first win of the season. Massillon dropped their first two matches to West Holmes and Tusky Valley.
The Tigers opened scoring in the first half with a Brody Thornsberry goal on a penalty kick. Later in the first half, an Austin Grant kick bounced off Rittman’s goalkeeper for a Tigers goal. At half, the score stood 2-0 Tigers. In the second half, Mateo Herrera scored a goal on a penalty kick, putting the Tigers up 3-0. A second goal by Herrera capped off the Tigers’ scoring, putting them up 4-0, which would be the final when the second-half clock hit zero.
