The Tigers routed Warren last Friday ahead of this week’s rivalry game vs. McKinley. There were many excellent performances; I examine a few in this week’s spotlight.
Ja’Meir Gamble had yet another stellar game on Friday night. He rushed for 156 yards on 10 carries with 3 touchdowns. He also had a catch-and-run of 31 yards that resulted in a score, bringing his touchdown total from the last two weeks to nine. For his continued excellence on the field, Ja’Meir Gamble is the offensive spotlight player of the week yet again.
The Tiger defense had a number of excellent performances on Friday. The front seven dominated Warren’s run game and stunted the pass game. Defensive lineman Dayvionne Floyd had a breakout game with a sack and 2 tackles-for-loss. Linebacker Re’Celle Hill had .5 sack and 2.5 TFLs. Defensive lineman Isaac Maxheimer had a sack and 3 TFLs. These players’ excellent performances earn them the spot at defensive spotlight players of the week.
