Tiger Cheer Comes in 2nd at State Championships

Massillon cheer already had one state championship under their belt, and they took a shot at another on Sunday at the OASSA state championships in Sunbury, Ohio. The ladies performed admirably and took second place to add another achievement to an impressive season.

Box Score– Lady Tigers’ District Championship

Moore, Lania– 14 points, 20 rebounds, 6 assists, 5 steals (double-double)

Nicola, Hannah– 15 points, 3 assists, 3 steals

Pierce, Delaney– 30 points, 10 rebounds, 10 steals, 3 assists (triple-double)

Williams, Kynslie– 6 points, 5 rebounds, 5 steals

Wolff, Jaryn– 9 points, 3 rebounds

Tiger Wrestling Places Well in Sectionals

The Tigers had several wrestlers advance to the district round after Saturday’s sectional tourney at Perry. Bishop Cupp (157lb) placed 3rd, Ransom Els (165lb) placed 4th, Frankie Salvino (190lb) placed 2nd, and Chris Fair (HWY) placed 2nd.  Devaughn Williams placed 4th in his freshman year sectionals.

Massillon Flag Team Preps for Inaugural Season, Attends Cleveland Browns Event

As the girls’ flag football team has gotten ready for their first season, they have been able to participate in some fun activities and camps. They traveled to the Cleveland Browns Girls Flag Football Kickoff on Sunday, an event that featured multiple other teams including Canton McKinley, who may be destined to become the girls’ archrival… the inaugural schedule will be released soon.

Gio Jackson Receives D1 Offer

Tigers’ wide receiver Gio Jackson Jr. was given an offer to play football at Kent State University. He also holds a previous offer from Akron.
