
Chris Knight Commits to Mount Union, Joins Tiger Alum Elijah Farrington at OAC Power
Massillon basketball star Chris Knight announced today that he will be continuing his career at the University of Mount Union. Chris, who scored 1,265 points with the Tigers (good for second all-time in team history) will join Massillon alum Elijah Farrington at the Mount. Farrington scored 723 points in his career with the Tigers, good for 17th on the scoring list. He emerged as a force for the Purple Raiders last year, averaging 13.8 ppg and 9.3 rebounds. The two Tigers will be a force to contend with for a Mount Union team that has contended for the OAC title almost every recent season.
Softball Takes Out McKinley
The Tigers jumped out on top in the first inning of last night’s rivalry game and never looked back. Nevaeh Drennen pitched a shutout while striking out 10 and giving up only one hit. The Tigers on the other hand racked up 12 hits and scored 7 runs in their 7-0 victory.
Baseball Downs McKinley Once Again
The Tigers have dominated the baseball rivalry series versus McKinley in recent seasons, and they added another win tonight. Massillon’s Luke McGeorge tossed 6 innings and Brock Polilli finished off another Tiger pitching beauty in a 1-0 shutout victory. The Tigers’ sole run came on a Will Hymes sac fly in the 6th. The win moves Massillon to 15-2 in their last 17 games versus McKinley. The Tigers now have a 7-4 record on the season.
