The game started out quickly in the Eagle’s favor, as a long touchdown pass from Ed’s quarterback Avontae Sims made the score 7-0.  The Eagles would tack on another score after a Tiger’s 3-and-out, extending their lead to 14-0.  A Massillon turnover led to another Ed’s score, and after the first quarter the Eagles led 21-0.  The second quarter started with yet another Eagles touchdown.  The Tigers tried to respond with a score—driving down the field with three big catches from Aamir Jones—but a holding penalty wiped out a touchdown pass to George Rivera and the halftime score stood: Eagles 28 – Tigers 0.

The Tigers broke up the shutout on a drive that took up most of the third quarter.  Quarterback Rasmus Haines converted a 4th-and-short on a push play, and tossed a touchdown pass to Logan Thornsberry.   The two-point conversion failed, leaving the Tigers trailing 28-6.   With just seconds remains in the fourth quarter, the Eagles added another touchdown, and when the scoreboard read all zeros, the score stood: Ed’s 35 – Tigers 6.

Coach’s Comment…

Coach Corsale: We need to focus on the fundamentals more.  When we did that in the game, we played well.  We also need to stop worrying about everyone else’s position, and stick to our own [assigned] guys.
