Massillon Stuns 10th Ranked Warren Harding in Double Overtime

The Warren Harding Raiders (13-3), ranked 10th in the state and 2nd in Division II (as well as being the #1 team in the NE District) were stunned by the Massillon Tigers in Warren tonight. The Tigers lost a lead late in the 4th and went into overtime. They tied the game late in the first overtime on free throws and Warren missed two shots to force a second overtime. The Tigers took a 3-point lead but lost it with under two minutes left. The Tigers tied the game with 20 seconds remaining and Warren missed a shot. The Tigers were fouled with 15 seconds remaining and Isaiah Lamp hit both to give the Tigers a 2-point lead. Massillon stole the ball and a foul plus a technical was committed by Warren. The Tigers’ Thigpen hit both of his shots and Lamp hit 1 of 2 to put the game in the bag. After a couple more free throws, the final buzzer sounded– 72-67 was the final in favor of the Tigers.

Ja’Dyn Williams Continues to Earn Offers

It seems that with every new day Tiger linebacker Ja’Dyn Williams continues to gather in scholarship offers. The University of Akron offered him today, as well as Big 12 school Cincinnati. An Ivy League school did too– Cornell. Ja’Dyn is showing dedication on the field and in the classroom!

Mylen Lenix Earns Offer

Massillon soon-to-be-graduated linebacker Mylen Lenix received an offer from Tiffin University today. Could he join fellow Tigers Braylyn Toles and DJ Zimmerman as a Dragon?

Where are Tigers’ Hoops Ranked in the State?

The OHSAA RPI poll ranks the boys at 3rd in the DII Northeast District behind North Royalton and Warren Harding (who the Tigers defeated tonight). According to MaxPreps the team is 57th in the state, 7th in DII, and 19th in the “Cleveland Region/Area”. This may change after the big win tonight.

The Lady Tigers are also in the tops of several polls. The RPI poll has them at 7th in the DII NE District. USA Today’s Super 25 poll has them ranked at 25th overall in the state. On MaxPreps they are 22nd in the state, 4th in DII, and 10th in the “Cleveland Region”.
