Quarterback Jalen Slaughter receives the Great American Rivalry Series MVP Award

 

 

Jalen Slaughter had an excellent game against Canton. He went 12 for 17, throwing for 152 yards and tossing 2 crucial touchdown passes that led to a Tiger win. He also scrambled for 16 yards. He was awarded the Great American Rivalry Series MVP, and he is one of this week’s spotlight players of the week.

Braylyn Toles celebrates after scoring the Tigers’ first touchdown of the day

Braylyn Toles was the Tigers’ leading receiver against McKinley. He had 7 catches for 88 yards and a touchdown. He had several crucial grabs that gave the Tigers first downs, and he darted all over the field as Massillon’s all-purpose yards leader. For this performance, Braylyn Toles is the second offensive spotlight player this week.

Mike Wright was all over the field for the Tigers on Saturday. He notched 6 tackles with half a sack and 2.5 tackles-for-loss along with a blocked punt. He was constantly in the Bulldogs’ backfield pressuring the quarterback and forcing incompletions, and he aided in bottling up the McKinley run game. He even played coverage on a screen pass. For this excellent performance, Mike Wright is the defensive spotlight player of the week.
